Open Society Theory
Popper's open society theory, in short, is a ruthless critique of totalitarianism and a defense of liberal democratic society. Because human reason is imperfect, even the arguments of the most excellent and intelligent people can be wrong. Popper also warns that when goals are clear and unchanging in this way, the pursuit of goals becomes radical and blind, and those who disagree with the goals and those harmed in the process of achieving them can be excluded, or in severe cases, purged. Therefore, he argues that society's goals should be continuously examined through constant rational dialogue and discussion with internal and external parties, while gradually changing society. A society in which this is possible is an open society.
