Golden Shield

Jinshun (金盾, Golden Shield) is an information censorship and surveillance policy implemented by China against its own citizens. It is called the Golden Shield Project (金盾工程), with the suffix "Gongcheng (工程)" corresponding to the English "project (plan)".

It does not apply to Hong Kong and Macao, where China's actual sovereignty extends.
