Nietzsche
God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers?
“Trust your feelings!” But feelings are not something you created yourself, and they may change at any time. Behind feelings are ‘judgments’ and ‘evaluations’ that we have inherited in the form of … attraction or aversion. The inspiration that feelings give is a grandchild of judgment, and that judgment is often wrong! And in any case, that inspiration is not a child you have given birth to! To trust your feelings means setting aside the gods within us called ‘reason’ and ‘experience’ and following the will of grandmothers, grandfathers, and the grandmothers and grandfathers before them.
