Para's Organization Method

Summary vs Context

Focusing Only on Summary

If you compress the content too much, you lose all context, and even when you look at this note later, it's hard to know why you wrote it or what it's about.

Focusing Too Much on Context

While it makes sense contextually, it's hard to decide whether the note is useful.

Opportunistic Compression

Layer1 - Notes

The step of saving the original as is.

Layer2 - Bold Passages

Marking the important parts in bold β€” that is, separating the unnecessary parts from the necessary ones.

Step 3 - Underlining Important Parts

Extract key words and phrases from the parts you marked as important, not the whole sentence.

Step 4 - Create a Short Summary

Try creating a short summary in your own thoughts and words.

Layer5- Remive

A Remix that combines the acquired information with other information.

As you go through the steps above, a second brain is created.
