People react in two ways to uncertainty
There are two types: those who look upward and those who look downward.
Those who look upward
Looking upward is a reaction driven by dopamine. People addicted to gambling don't gamble because they think they will lose money. They gamble because they think they will win money. They look upward. (_z.250110 도박중독갤에서 말하는 도박중독의 증상들) The current money seems very valuable in the future, so they take out loans or use leverage.
But once they actually invest the money, fear rushes in. Because this is a dopamine emotion, their thinking becomes very narrow and they cannot think correctly. As a result, they quickly lock in gains and take losses to infinity.
Those who look downward
People who look downward dislike losses very much. As shown in Prospect Theory, the emotion caused by loss is stronger. We have evolved to avoid losses and seek stability. But if we have a certain profit of 10 billion and an uncertain 50% chance of 100 billion profit, we should press the button of uncertainty. A series of such actions will eventually create 51%.
