The 65-Quadrillion Debt That Suddenly Appeared

BIS referred to foreign exchange swaps not recorded on balance sheets as a 'blind spot,' pointing out that "it is not even clear how much is known about the existence of off-balance-sheet debt."

This year, as an exceptional dollar rally has roiled the foreign exchange market and concerns about an economic slowdown have grown, the emergence of such unpredictable financial risks worldwide is heightening anxiety.

Last September, UK government bond yields spiked (bond prices plunged), causing a 'margin call' crisis for UK pension funds. A margin call is a measure that requires additional margin when the value of the margin deposited for futures trading declines.

And so all stock prices begin to fall. It is said that debt we had not known about has appeared.
