Chinese yuan
The currency used in China
Namuwiki - Go to
The yuan (圆(元), Yuan) of the People's Republic of China is the currency of China, with ISO 4217 code CNY. However, especially in the Chinese-speaking world, the abbreviation RMB for the Chinese expression renminbi (人民币(人民幣), Rénmínbì) is widely used, and it is sometimes confused with the code. As long as you look carefully at exchange receipts anywhere in the world, there is no need to be confused. It clearly says CNY. Issuance is handled entirely by the central bank, the People's Bank of China (中国人民银行).
