Voting in India
What happens when you vote in a country with the world's second-largest population and the seventh-largest land area?

The Election Commission staff, who wield immense power, number only 800.
But the Indian Election Commission has the power to mobilize anyone, so it drafted 11 million civil servants from the federal government.

It takes about a month from voting to counting.

They travel across 7 regions, conducting intensive voting.
BUT with high illiteracy, 250 million out of 900 million cannot read.
Sending election notices does not work.

They used the world's first electronic voting machines nationwide, and
there are symbols, candidate photos, and party emblems.

Each party has its own emblem.

Even counting only languages used by more than 100,000 people, there are over 200.

They even carry oxygen tanks up mountain paths to collect votes. The village has only 12 residents.
They took a helicopter and hiked to set up a polling station for 35 voters at 4,650m, trekking 45km.

In the middle of a lion habitat there is a Hindu temple, with a single official who is also the only voter.

They pass through communist rebel strongholds and travel by rowboat for 24 hours, braving crocodiles and water snakes.
