Top-down communication refers to a communication method in which information is transmitted from higher levels to lower levels within an organization. This approach is commonly found in corporations, government agencies, and other organizational structures, and has the following characteristics: instruction- and command-centeredness, efficiency, clear guidelines and direction, control and management. However, flexibility and motivation decrease, and communication becomes limited.
