Eugenics
Eugenics (優生學, eugenics) is a scientific belief and pseudoscience that holds that superior human hereditary traits can be selected and improved through methods such as breeding, thereby improving the overall genetic quality of humanity; in modern biology, it is a discarded scientific theory.
Historically, the standards by which eugenics defined superior and inferior genes were often unclear in terms of whether they were good or bad by natural environmental criteria. Even from the perspective of human society, there are surprisingly many cases where superiority or inferiority is not clear-cut.
Eugenics as Seen Through Racehorses
Racehorses cannot survive long in nature. Because humans have blindly evolved them only for running—that is, for a specific purpose—whereas in nature, it is advantageous for all abilities to be evenly developed.
