If It's Too Good to Be True, It's a Lie
Too good To Be True
These days, there are many people who claim they will teach you how to make money through trading. I think what they are doing amounts to offering drugs to young people. It is a really stupid thing to do. If you were already rich, would you try to make money by teaching people trading? Some people even appear on TV and say, "The method for earning 300% returns per year is in this book. Order it and we'll send it to you right away!" (Laughter) If you had truly found the secret to 300% annual returns, why would you try to sell books? (Laughter) That makes no sense. It's a cheap sales gimmick.
- The claim that you're guaranteed to make money is always a lie.

Bernard Madoff was investigated multiple times by the SEC because he advertised a 'high-return investment product with no loss of principal.' In other words, in Economics, high returns without loss of principal do not exist. Promising unconditional returns is dangerous. Even the building up of a consensus that everyone says is right and good is dangerous.
