The predicted crisis never comes
Trends are created by the observer. During the 2008 financial crisis, they said capitalism would collapse; in 2012, they said an energy war would break out because oil would be depleted within 30 years; then in 2016, they said oil was overflowing thanks to the shale revolution; in 2020, they said a world without oil was coming and crude oil went negative; then oil prices shot up and Europe was in an uproar for lack of natural gas and energy; and now high oil prices are causing an uproar again.
After the 2008 financial crisis, they were in an uproar because there was no inflation; now they are in an uproar because of inflation. Before, they were in an uproar because the dollar was weak; now they are in an uproar because the dollar is strong.
