Bertrand Russell

British mathematician, logician, philosopher, historian, social reform activist, socialist, and pacifist. He spent most of his life in England. He was not only a great scholar who left achievements across many fields, but also an educator who produced outstanding students such as Wittgenstein, and was one of the most prominent public figures of his time, continuing social movements (anti-nuclear, anti-war, etc.) tirelessly into his later years. He was the recipient of the 1950 Nobel Prize in Literature.
